1995 Harrison Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Opened this up a little late tonight. But I had a hankering for a big red. So I pulled a wild card. The Harrison Cabernet. Not sure I why I bought it many years back, but it's the only one in my collection and on a late night, why not open it?

I'm impressed.

The wine has great dark fruit, mocha and black cherry flavors. On the nose it's a tad hot but given time it reveals nice aromatics and seductive smells. I'm sipping this at 10pm with no food. It's drinking nice. The tannins are sweet and smooth, the mid palate is bright and tasty while it finishes a tad on the short side. Not sure what it costs on the auction or consignment bins, but I'd pay $30-45 for a wine ready to drink now. 88 points.
